Milk Thistle is an herb that’s been used in traditional medicine as a natural liver remedy for more than 2,000 years. The active compound in milk thistle is Silymarin (Silybum Marianum), which helps maintain healthy liver function. Hepamarin provides hepatocellular protection through two known mechanisms of actions. Hepamarin blocks toxins from entering hepatocytes by altering the structure of outer cell membrane. Secondly, Hepamarin stimulates liver regeneration and hepatocytes formation through increased ribosomal protein syntesis. Hepamarin’s other actions include interruption of enterohepatic recirculation of toxins.
