Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant that plays an imperative role in non-enzymatic defense mechanism of the body. Vitamin C is an essential component of many metabolic processes including enhancing the antimicrobial activity of the acquired and innate immune cells.
Vitamin D insufficiency is common in dogs. Dogs can hardly synthesize any vitamin D through the thick layer of coat and fat, that’s why they mainly rely on their diet. Vitamin D3 is necessary for calcium absorption, healthy bone and teeth, immune function, cardiovascular health, development of nervous system and muscular tonicity.
